What are the panels made of?

The panels are made of high-quality Corten-A steel, a metal alloy composed of iron, copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel and chromium. The unique characteristic of Corten steel is the formation of a dense oxide skin, which acts as a protective rust layer. This layer prevents rusting through and protects the inner material from further oxidation while the process of corrosion continues slowly.

Note: Delivery in non-rusted condition.

Upon delivery, the panels are in its original gray metallic color, without rusting. Within a period of two to six months a beautiful brown/orange rust layer will form, this is a natural process. When you have the panels outside, various weather influences cause the elements to rust. During this rusting process, the panels may shed some rust, which is part of the properties of Corten steel.
