What is galvanized steel?

Galvanized steel does not rust. This is because a thin layer of zinc is applied over the metal. The zinc layer keeps the metal from coming into contact with oxygen or water. This process is also called galvanizing. So an edge fence made of galvanized steel will not rust and is therefore perfect for your garden. The MySteel fences on this page are manufactured from high quality sendzimir galvanized steel. Sendzimir galvanized steel is carbon steel that goes through a zinc bath after rolling. The purpose of this zinc bath is to protect the steel from corrosion (rust). The zinc bath has a temperature of 450-500 degrees and contains a small amount of aluminum. After this, air is blown over the galvanized steel on both sides to control the layer thickness. This produces a uniform thickness of the zinc layer. The zinc layer provides good protection for your edge fence, making it last for years.

The galvanized steel edge fence has a matte silver-gray metallic color: a color that will always last through the years.
