The bench is made of Douglas wood. Douglas wood is the wood of the Douglas fir. The wood has a warm appearance. Be aware, however, that wood turns gray over time. To prevent this, the wood must be treated with special oil. The wood is delivered untreated.

The brackets of these benches are made of high-quality Corten-A steel plate. This type of metal has the unique property of forming a very dense oxide skin (rust layer). Rusting through is therefore impossible. Because of the dense oxide skin, the deeper lying material is shielded from oxygen, which slows down the oxidation considerably while the corrosion continues. The Corten steel bracket is delivered unrusted, in the gray metallic color. The start of the rusting process begins in the first 2 months, no treatment is required. During the rusting process, the planter may shed. Corten steel is a metal alloy consisting of iron and to this are added copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel and chromium.
