Material These fences are manufactured from high-quality Corten-A steel plate. This type of metal has the unique property of forming a very dense oxide skin (rust layer). Rusting through is therefore impossible. Because of the dense oxide layer, the deeper lying material is protected from oxygen, which slows down the oxidation considerably while the corrosion continues. The edge protection is delivered untreated, in the gray metal color. The start of the rusting process begins within the first 2 months, no treatment is required. During the rusting process, the edge fence may shed. Corten steel is a metal alloy consisting of iron and to this are added copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel and chromium.
