The corten steel welded planter is a square planter that is fully welded, and made of one piece. This is unlike our other planters, which are dismountable. A bottom plate is optional for this particular size planter. This planter is aesthetically pleasing and manufactured in-house by our own craftsmen.
What type of material is used?
These planters are manufactured from high-quality Corten-A steel plate. This type of metal has the unique property of forming a very dense oxide skin (rust layer). Rusting through is therefore impossible. Due to the dense oxide layer, the underlying material is protected from oxygen, which slowsdown the oxidation process while the corrosion continues. The Corten steel planter is delivered unrusted, in the gray metallic color. The rusting process starts in the first 2 months, no treatment is required. During the rusting process, the planter may come off. Corten steel is a metal alloy consisting of iron and to this are added copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel and chromium.
